• I found out that my grandpa, Russell Landstrom
  was an amazing guy in photography. I learned he
  went to many places and his photos taught me
  about his life with the Associated Press during
  World War II and from his photographs of Winston
  Churchill.

Emily and Amber phone interviewed two of the
Little Rock Nine who actually integrated into
white schools and found out what it was like.

The interview with Jefferson Thomas gave us a
lot of detailed personal fears and thoughts. He
was very nice.

Patti and Jenna were able to conduct a primary
source interview with Dr. Fernando Riverron, a
local heart surgeon. They also received a model
of a heart and other medical things, which they
placed into their exhibit.

We had found tons of information on our topic,
but we needed more. We chose to go to the Wausau
Hospital and see what we could find. They said we
would be able to interview Dr. Riverron, and we
did. He was a great help to our entire project!

Hayden and Matt interviewed veterans of D-Day. In
fact they recorded a DVD of these interviews, and
these DVDs are played in their exhibit.

The interviews with all the veterans were great
sources. They gave us a great explanation of
D-Day, and told the story in a soldiers eyes.
Also, they gave us some great facts, that
couldnt be found anywhere else.

By interviewing Kit Cody and Lynn Howe, I gained
knowledge of what effect Buffalo Bills show made
on the world. Kit Cody is the great-granddaughter
of Buffalo Bill and Lynn Howe is a co-creator of
the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody,
Wyoming. Kit Cody gave me the idea to call Lynn
Howe for more information.

one of my relatives from Chicago. I was able to
get lots of pictures and a copy of an actual crew
manifest from Ellis Island.

When Bob Milcox told me about D-Day, it became
so much more emotional and scary. He collected
his medals because too many of his friends died
and he didnt want to remember.

I interviewed my grandfatheran army mechanic
before World War II and is still a pilot today
and part of EAA. I asked him about what he
thought about Chuck Yeagers breaking of the
sound barrier and how it affected America. It was
a very interesting interview and gave me expert
viewpoints on my topic. He was an excellent
source.

helpful. They gave us a perspective into the
lives of people who experienced our event first
hand.

Virginia. Jamison was able to use the information
to enhance his project.

The source that was the most helpful to me was
the source I received from Northfolk, Virginia.
The great archivist James Zoble helped me in the
material I needed on the Bonus March. It is
called MacArthur Memorial Archives. It is about
Douglas MacArthur who was a general during the
march.

Sarahs primary sources from the FBI were
fascinating and proved John Dillinger was a bad
boy.

A source that was one of the most useful was one
call Johnnie Boy that I found on the internet.
It was a history of his life. One of the most
unique ones was a source found from the Federal
Bureau of Investigation.

• Emily went to Madison and conducted a primary
  interview with Karl Armstrong. Karl was the
  actual person who bombed Sterling Hall.

Perseverance really played a big part in my
research. It took me a while, but I was able to
interview Karl Armstrong. The interview ended up
being the best part of my project.

Chelsea went to UW-Oshkosh and met with the
Universitys archivist, who in turn, led her to
many primary sources on her Topic. Through this
visit at UW-Oshkosh, she also found a cassette
recording of black students, who participated in
Black Thursday.

I couldnt find much information on my topic
locally, so I actually had to go to Oshkosh to
get information. That taught me to have patience
and not to give up.The archivist that I met at
UW-Oshkosh proved to be very helpful in my
research.

Andy and Jake were fortunate to interview Mr.
Miller, a Sr. High teacher about the impact and
controversy over teaching creationism and
evolution. They also conducted a poll among all
the Jr. High teachers.

was an extremely helpful source. He gave us a lot
of good information about modern conflicts
between teaching and religious ideas.

  is a doctor in Boston. They also wrote to Dr.
  Lilleheis Museum, which sent back much

family. Not only were they a great source of

sources such as newspaper and magazine articles.

I got information from old magazines, newspaper
clippings and Warren commission. The old
magazines and paper clips gave information and
pictures from people that were actually there the
day of John F. Kennedys assassination. The
Warren commission information helped because it
told who was involved and why.

Heather actually took a trip to Massachusetts and
visited the site of the trials.

My trip to Massachusetts gave me a better feel
for what people during the Salem Witch Trials
were really going through. It was amazing
actually walking through the town where the

source. He helped me by giving me historical maps
and books. He also gave me information that books

They were truly super researchers by contacting
Channel 9 and then having the station conduct a
public poll about their topic. They were also
able to purchase a copy of the Laramie Project,
which is the play/movie of the Matthew Shepard
story.

It was very important to us to get the publics
opinion on our topic, so we went to Melissa L.
from Newsline 9 and she helped us. Were just so
pleased that we for the poll and all the valuable
information that we needed to do a quality

Jeff was able to interview his grandfather, who
was with the ground forces, which supported the
Flying Tigers. His grandfather was Jeffs
inspiration to keep working diligently on his
I-Movie.

Family was the inspiration of my topic. I didnt
know a whole lot about my familys history. I
just wanted to be able to tell the next
generation about how my grandfather, their great
grandfather played a role in The Flying Tigers.

Amber and Alex were able to interview Mr.
Miller, a Senior High teacher, about the impact
and controversy over teaching creationism and
evolution. They also conducted a poll with all of
the junior high teachers regarding teaching
creationism and evolution.

There wasnt a lot of information about medical
topics around school, so we decided to actually
take a tour of the operating room where surgeries
are actually preformed. Watching the surgery, and
knowing that it saves peoples lives truly
inspired us.

Aaron searched deeply into his topic of Title
IX. He conducted some interviews with collage
wrestlers at Marquette University, who were
affected by Title IX.

I felt it was definitely important to get
wrestlers hurt by Title IX and MU had some great
information which I visited and had a great time.

Eric wrote a comprehensive historical paper
entitled The Salvation Army A missionary
society caring and sharing. He conducted an
interview with Ann, a social worker, at the local
Salvation Army.

The Salvation isnt a well known topic. People
know of its work during the holidays, but not
much more. So to show people the great works in
the community I got and interview and tour of the
Salvation Army. It was a great source for the
history of the local Salvation Army. It helped a
lot in my paper.
