PHYSICAL RESTRAINTS

• Restraints are protective devices employed to
  prevent a patient from harming him self or
  others, to immobilize a part, to restrict the
  activity and promote a feeling of security in a
  patient who needs control

Objectives

• Reduce the risk from injury from fall
• Prevention of interruption of therapy traction,
  IV infusion, NGT feeding, folys cath.
• Prevent confused and compactive client from
  removing life support equipment
• Reduce self injury or others
