The Fall Of Jericho

• Lesson 6
• Gods Plans Are Best

• Joshua 61 Now Jericho was securely shut up
  because of the children of Israel none went out,
  and none came in. 2 And the Lord said to Joshua
  See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its
  king, and the mighty men of valor. 3 You shall
  march around the city, all you men of war you
  shall go all around the city once. This you shall
  do six days. 4 And seven priests shall bear seven
  trumpets of rams horns before the ark. But the
  seventh day you shall march around the city seven
  times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. 5
  It shall come to pass, when they make a long
  blast with the rams horn, and when you hear the
  sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall
  shout with a great shout then the wall of the
  city will fall down flat. And the people shall go
  up every man straight before him.

Jericho

• Men of war shall march around city.
• Seven priests with seven rams horns in front of
  the ark.
• The rest of the people followed the ark.
• Once a day for six days. Trumpets only.
• Seventh day circle city seven times. At Joshuas
  order All the people shout!

Gods Way Succeeds!

• Joshua 620 So the people shouted when the
  priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when
  the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and
  the people shouted with a great shout, that the
  wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into
  the city, every man straight before him, and they
  took the city.
• Archeology confirms this also!

Gods Plans Are Best!

• Man And God Have Different Plans!
• Isaiah 558 For My thoughts are not your
  thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways, says the
  Lord.
• 9 For as the heavens are higher than the
  earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And
  My thoughts than your thoughts.

Gods Plans Are Best!

• Gods thoughts are not like our thoughts!
• His ways are not like our ways!
• The difference between the two are enormous!

• 2 Kings 59-12 Then Naaman went with his horses
  and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elishas
  house. 10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him,
  saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times,
  and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you
  shall be clean. 11 But Naaman became furious,
  and went away and said, Indeed, I said to
  myself, He will surely come out to me, and stand
  and call on the name of the Lord his God, and
  wave his hand over the place, and heal the
  leprosy. 12 Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar,
  the rivers of Damascus, better than all the
  waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be
  clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

• Matthew 159 But in vain they do worship me,

• John 424 God is a Spirit and they that worship
  him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

There Must Be Vain Worship?

Worship - Praying

• Philippians 46 Be careful for nothing but in

Pray For What?

• 1 Timothy 21-2 I exhort therefore, that, first
  of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions,
  and giving of thanks, be made for all men 2 For
  kings, and for all that are in authority that we
  may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all
  godliness and honesty.
• Colossians 43-4 Withal praying also for us, that
  God would open unto us a door of utterance, to
  speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also
  in bonds4 That I may make it manifest, as I
  ought to speak.

  in the house of God, which is the church of the
  living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

• 1 Thessalonians 18 For from you sounded out the
  word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and
  Achaia, but also in every place your faith to
  God-ward is spread abroad so that we need not to
  speak any thing.

• Acts 1127-30 And in these days came prophets
  from Jerusalem unto Antioch.28 And there stood
  up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the
  Spirit that there should be great dearth

  have widows, let them relieve them, and let not

• 1 Timothy 58 But if any provide not for his own,
  and specially for those of his own house, he hath
