  • P class of problems for which a solution can

    shortest path in poly time

    can verify the correctness of the witness

  • All NP-complete problems are equally hard!

Boolean Satisfiability Testing
  • The Boolean Satisfiability Problem, or SAT
  • Given a Boolean formula F,

  • A wide range of applications
  • Relatively easy to test for small formulas (e.g.
    with a Truth Table)
  • However, very quickly becomes hard to solve
  • Search space grows exponentially with formula
