  • Peru receives 1,600,000 visitors annually.
  • Accounts for 1.8 of GDP, second only to mining,
    and to10 of the working population.
  • The arrivals of foreign tourists have increased
    progressively during the last 10 years, at an
    average annual rate of 12.
  • Foreign tourist in Peru spends on average US
    1,114.
  • Foreign tourists daily expenditure is US 86,
    while the MICE tourist spends US 119.

  • In 2006, 55,734 tourists arrive for MICE (4 of
    arrivals).
  • 83 of the MICE tourists are from the Americas
    (20 Chile, 11 United States and 9 Colombia).
    The rest come mainly from Europe.

  • 67 come with their partners, which gives an
    opportunity for doing tourism and extending the
    stay.
