  • Photosynthesis is a process resulting in the
    formation of glucose, a 6 carbon sugar
  • Another product is oxygen gas that can be seen in
    algal mats as bubbles of air
  • The glucose is moved from the chloroplast into
    the conducting tissue of the plant.
  • Some glucose is moved to the root tissue for
    storage as starch.
  • The oxygen that is produced in vascular plants
    leaves the plant through the same stomates
    through which carbon dioxide diffused into the
    leave cells
