Avoid cement plug support failure with Cement
Support Tool

• Proper support of the cement plug is essential to
  successful plug placement. With the CSTTM this is
  no longer a concern, nor is it time consuming.
• What it is
• 1) A tough membrane that is inflated by spring
  members to seal against the borehole or casing
  wall.
• 2) A dart that pushes the tool and wipes the
  string before cement is pumped.
• Supplied ready to run in containing tube.
• No rental tools involved.
• No training required to operate.
• One size fits most hole dimensions.
• Simply loaded into work string directly from
  tube.
• What it does
• Is pumped to setting depth and when free of the
  pipe it expands and fills the hole.
• Can either be pumped directly ahead of the
  spacer/cement or placed before the pre-job
  circulation is started.
• The dart prevents contamination in string.
• No other plug support is required as long as
  formation integrity is adequate.
• Several tools can be used without tripping for
  repeated plugging operations.
• In horizontal or uphill wellbore the CSTTM can be
  placed at TOC to prevent slumping at the top, as
  it also supports from below.

CSTTM Running Procedure

• Run string without diverter sub.
• Wash plug setting area to prepare well and mud
  for cementing
• Install pump-in sub and load CST dart in the
  work string.
• Pump to setting depth, either before the
  cementing operation or ahead of the cement
• As the CSTexits the work string, it expands to
  fill the hole
• Place the cement plug POOH
• Continue operation knowing the plug will not go
  anywhere.
• Why CSTTM works
• CST immediately serves as a tight physical
  barrier between the cement and the fluid below
• This prevents slumping of the heavier cement into
  the fluid below
