what this session will deal with So, youve made
it University, youve had a flick through some of
your books and found yourself overwhelmed with
information from every which angle and arent all
that sure where to turn. You know you have
several assignments coming up for each of the
courses youre studying, but dont really know
whats expected of you, or how to effectively
tackle your research to give you the best chance
for good results. Youve probably also got other
things in life that you enjoy doing, and dont
want to be spending all day and all night working
on assignments (even though Lyn Bowers courses
are the most fun courses in the whole world).

- Utlises a search requiring a Title or Authors
name - Tips
- Use the Authors Surname first- Smith, A.D
- Dont use non-filing words at the beginning of
a Title, such as The, And, A- start with
the first main term of the title

- The Keyword Search
- Utilises keywords selected by you to match search
results to the keywords subject area - Tips Think carefully about the topic youre
researching and select keywords that accurately
locate the information you need

- Searches for the Texts and RRs held by the
Library for the courses you study - Tips Select the Course ID option, and enter
the Course number to see which Texts and RRs are
held.
