Certification

• Eighty-five percent of all districts are
  certified
• Districts can be certified for only outbound
  exchanges
• It is not necessary for all countries in a
  multi-national district to become certified
• Youth Exchange Program Evaluations are
  underway
• Three evaluations were completed between July and
  December 2008
• Two more evaluations will take place before July
  2009
• At this time, hoping to complete four evaluations
  in the 2009-10 Rotary year

Certification

• Certification renewal is an annual requirement
• Renewal is necessary because of leadership
  changeover
• 2009-10 certification renewal form will be sent
  in May, RI Staff is unable to post this form
  online because it contains district specific
  information
• Renewal form should be signed by 2009-10 Youth
  Exchange Chair and District Governor
• Renewal form should be returned to RI by 30 June
  2009

Certification

• Starting in the 2009-10 Rotary year all certified
  districts will be asked to recertify on a rolling
  basis at least every five years
• The purpose of recertification is to ensure that
  districts continue to meet certification
  requirements and update RI on any changes to
  Youth Exchange policies and procedures
• Recertification requirements will include
  resubmitting an application, abuse and harassment
  prevention policy, and insurance and
  incorporation documentation
• The schedule of which districts will be asked to
  recertify in which year has been determined based
  on previous order of certification, multidistrict
  arrangements, translations requirements, and
  other anticipated challenges

• Expected to be completed in early 2010
• Short-term and Long-term Applications
• Expected to be completed in mid 2010

• YEX students, Rotarians involved with the
  program, and host families are encouraged to join
• Youth Exchange Officers Secure Site
• District and Multidistrict chairs, and Committee
  members will be granted site access
• Site will contain regularly updated YEO
  Directory, YEX publications, and a calendar of
  submitted events

  the Ticket Form to your nearest RI Office
