Title: How to use brushes

1
How to use brushes?
  • What type of brush should I recommend?

2
Brushes for smooth leather
  • There are three types of brushes for cleaning and
    care of smooth leather
  • Coating brush
  • Dauber brush
  • Polishing brush

3
The Coating Brush
4
The Coating Brush
  • To clean very dirty shoes!
  • Instruction for use
  • Before beginning to clean the shoe should be dry!
  • Remove the coarsest dirt (dry earth, mud, sand,
) from the entire shoe by brushing.
  • Remove the dirt that has been deposited in the
seam between the leather and the sole with the
slant (back end of the brush).
  • Remove the incrustations in the profile of the
sole with the point (front end of the brush).
  • Brush the shoe again with the strong synthetic
    bristles.
  • Clean it now with a moist cloth.
  • Now the actual shoe care can begin.

5
The Coating Brush
  • Tips for argumentation
  • Why cant I take an old rag for cleaning?
  • Coarse dirt is just dispersed and not removed
    with rags.
  • The dirt that has been deposited in the seam
between the leather and the sole cant be removed
    with rags.
  • Why not use a dish brush and running water?
  • The shoe should not be wet at applying the shoe
    polish.
  • Would you use the same brush for cleaning pots
    afterwards?
  • The bristles of the coating brush are stronger
and more efficient than those of the dish brush.
  • I will scratch the leather with the strong
    bristles!
  • The bristles are elastic and will bend under
pressure. If you press the brush on the shoe
forcefully, the bristles will bend and the smooth
side and not the top of the bristles will touch
    the leather.

6
The Dauber Brush
7
The Dauber Brush
  • For optimal applying of shoe polish!
  • Instruction for use
  • Moisten the dauber brush with shoe polish. Use a
pale shoe brush for pale polish and a dark shoe
    brush for dark polish.
  • Apply the brush to the shoe with circular
movements, thereby massaging the polish into the
    leather.
  • Leave shoe polish for a few minutes to penetrate
    and to dry.
  • Now polish the shoe with the polishing brush.

8
The Dauber Brush
  • Tips for argumentation
  • Why cant I use a cloth?
  • The shoe polish is applied thinner and more
uniforme to the leather by a dauber.
  • Because of the flexibility of the bristles, the
brush introduces the polish also into all seams,
    grooves and ornaments.
  • Why not using the sponge of the dispenser caps?
  • The sponge does not introduce the polish into the
seams and ornaments. You can apply the polish
with the sponge and then massage into the leather
    with the dauber.

9
The Polishing Brush
10
The Polishing Brush
  • For optimal polishing of smooth leather!
  • Instruction for use
  • Apply the shoe polish with the dauber.
  • Let the cream be absorbed.
  • Remove the surplus polish with a cloth.
  • Polish the shoe with the brush. Use a pale brush
for pale shoes and a dark brush for dark shoes.
Lead the brush with strong movements over the
    leather.

11
The Polishing Brush
  • Tips for argumentation
  • A horsehair brush is too expensive!
  • Brushes with horsehair are the most effective
ones, in terms of their polishing effect. Due to
its natural characteristics, the hair has a rough
surface, which creates heat. This makes the shoe
polish more liquid, it can penetrate into the
leather pores better, the leather surface becomes
    smoother and the shoe shines.
  • A precious shoe deserves good shoe care! Good
shoe care prolongs the life of your shoe. So you
    will save money!
  • You will have the polishing brush for a long time!

12
Brushes for suede leather
  • There are 6 brushes/products for cleaning and
    care of suede leather
  • Suede brush with synthetic bristles
  • Suede brush with brass wire bristles
  • Suede brush with brass wire and synthetic bristle
    row
  • Nubuck brush with handle and lateral bristle row
  • Nubuck brush with rubber crepe
  • Abrasive stain eraser

13
The Suede Brushes
14
The Suede Brushes
  • Suitable for rough suede leather
  • Instruction for use
  • Remove any coarse dirt with the brass wire and/or
    synthetic bristles.
  • Remove dirt of places that are hard to access -
such as edges and seams with the side cleaning
    edge.
  • Use the corresponding care product.
  • Raise the fibers of the leather with the rubber
nipples and comb it to achieve a uniform
    structure in one direction.
  • The brush and the nipple head can be cleaned with
    water and soap!

15
The Suede Brushes
  • Tips for argumentation
  • Why do I need one suede brush with synthetic
bristles and one with brass wire bristles?
  • The brush with synthetic bristles cleans in a
more gentle way (also suitable for velour
leather), whereas the brass wire brush cleans
    more powerfully (for coarse dirt).
  • Does the brass wire destroy the leather?
  • rough suede leather will not be destroyed by
brass wire. But use a suede brush with synthetic
bristles or with brass wire and synthetic bristle
row for soft or fine suede leather.
  • It is recommended to use the brass wire brush for
persistent spots, but use it carefully.

16
Nubuck Brush with Handle
17
Nubuck Brush with Handle
  • Suitable for fine suede leather, nubuck leather
  • Instruction for use
  • Remove the coarse dirt and the dirt in places
that are hard to access with the row of side
    bristles.
  • Brush the shoe with the rubber crepe part of the
brush to remove the street dust.
  • Use the corresponding care product.
  • Brush the shoe again with the rubber crepe part
of the brush, whereby the shoe is roughened
evenly with the flexible and grabbing structure
    of the crepe.
  • The brush and the rubber crepe can be cleaned
    with water and soap!

18
Nubuck Brush with Handle
  • Tips for argumentation
  • Why cant I use the normal suede brush for nubuck
    leather?
  • The rubber crepe part is more gentle and also
    efficient.
  • I do not buy shoes of nubuck leather, because it
is impossible to clean them effectively.
  • You can clean the suede leather effectively with
the rubber crepe, because the small particles
stick to the rubber crepes surface, ridding the
suede leather fibers of street dust.
  • The suede leather is roughened evenly with the
flexible and grabbing structure of the crepe, and
the shoe again appears as new.

19
Nubuck Brush with Rubber Crepe
20
Nubuck Brush with Rubber Crepe
  • Suitable for fine suede leather, nubuck leather,
    large surfaces.
  • Instruction for use
  • Brush the shoe forcefully with the rubber crepe
    to remove the street dust.
  • Use corresponding shoe care.
  • Brush the shoe again with the rubber crepe,
whereby the shoe is roughened evenly with the
flexible and grabbing structure of the crepe.
  • The rubber crepe can be cleaned with water and
    soap!

21
Nubuck Brush with Rubber Crepe
  • Tips for argumentation
  • This brush is too expensive!
  • If you use the right brush, your precious shoe
will appear as new for a long time. The brush is
much cheaper than a new shoe!

22
Abrasive Stain Eraser
23
Abrasive Stain Eraser
  • Instruction for use for spots and dirt rings
  • (suede and nubuck leather or textiles)
  • Rub repeatedly and forcefully the place in
question with a corner or edge of the stain
    eraser.
  • Remove the rubbed off material with a brush.
  • Instruction for use for bare places
  • (Suede and nubuck leather)
  • Rub over the bare places with the surface of the
stain eraser until they no longer differ from the
    surrounding.

24
Abrasive Stain Eraser
  • Tips for argumentation
  • Does the stain eraser work effectively?
  • There are abrasive elements in the bar similar
to sand. They solve the dirt and the rubber
    absorbes it.
  • The abrasive stain eraser is more aggressive than
    brass wire bristles.
