The Beginning
  • The British Parliament adopted the Tea Act in
    1773.
  • In September of 1773, the East India Company sent
half a million pounds of tea to Boston, New York,
    Philadelphia, and Charleston.
  • For 20 days, the Bostonians tried to figure out
how to make the tea ships leave the harbor and
    back to England, duties unpaid.
