  • A Smart Internship offers your students
  • both high school and college credit
  • for work based learning at no extra cost to you
    or your students.

  • Program Goals
  • Provide students a step on a pathway to work
    and school
  • Develop entry level skills in a specific
    occupation and practice the basic career
    management skills necessary to obtain, sustain,
    and advance employment
  • Provide a venue for curriculum alignment
    between high schools and colleges

  • Benefits
  • Students may earn up to 12 college credits for
    their internship
  • Students can start anytime
  • Training plans are provided for you for review
    with your employer

  • Smart Internships are aligned with the new
    diploma requirements from the State of Oregon
    concerning Career-Related Learning Standards
    (CRLS) Career-Related Learning Experiences
    (CRLES) and Extended Application.

  • College requirements are designed to be met by a
    combination of what you are already doing with
    your internship students along with resources and
    assistance provided by CCC.

  • General Guidelines
  • The college has training plans which can be
    amended to your needs
  • Maximum 12 college credits per year (July 1 -
    June 30)
  • College credits are transcribed at the end of
    Spring term
  • All students are expected to complete 16 seminar
    hours (Future Focus and Senior Seminar count)

  • General Guidelines continued
  • The students performance is evaluated on the
    site by the site supervisor. (The school
    instructor reviews the work of the supervisor and
    student to assign a grade.)
  • Credits can be adjusted per hours completed
  • The school can use its own Time Sheet if desired

  • The school can use its own Terms and Conditions
    form
  • One college credit equals
  • Completion of one measurable indicator (see
    training plan)
  • 30 clock hours learning/working at the training
    site
