Presidents Corner Welcome! That is how
Green Primary PTA wants to make every parent
feel. We welcome your participation in the
programs we offer and in all volunteer
opportunities. It's a great way to get to know
other parents. My name is Michelle Herdlick
and this is my second year as President of the
Green Primary PTA. My husband, Mark, and I have
one child, Maria, in 2nd grade. PTA has become an
exciting part of our lives and we hope in yours.
Already we have accomplished so much. Thank
you to all who helped this year with providing
baked goods and snacks for the Teacher/Staff
Welcome, Better Start program, kindergarten
greeters, bus riders at Greenwood and volunteers
for the Primary School students. Without
volunteers, like you, we wouldn't have such a
smooth start to the new school year. You
will be receiving information on membership,
holiday parties, and volunteer opportunities.
Please take some time to go through the paperwork
and respond accordingly. Now it is time to
start the school year and I look forward to
spending time at Greenwood and Primary and
getting to know more and more parents and kids as
we work together on a great school year. When PTA
gets involved, children benefit when you get
involved in PTA the child who benefits the most
is your own. Michelle Herdlick Primary PTA
President

REFLECTIONS
2008-2009 THEME WOW!
Reflections is a valuable program that is
promoted by the PTA to encourage students to use
their talents to create original art in the areas
of visual arts, literature, musical composition
and photography. The theme for this year is
WOW! The deadline is January and details will
follow later.
Holiday Parties Allie Anenson is the overall
coordinator for Green Primary PTA. There will be
a flyer coming home soon explaining the party
dates and the information for each classroom. A
coordinator will be chosen for each room at this
time. Stay tuned!
A Friendly Reminder... Dont forget to log your
volunteer hours for work donated at the school or
in your own home. Volunteer log BINDERS are
located in the Volunteer room at GPS and copy
room at GWD.
Many thanks go out to each family who contributed
to the Welcome Back staff lunch. Their tasty
generosity was greatly appreciated.

PTA CAN TURN TRASH INTO CASH !
Did you know that each year we are able to
provide some extra help to our schools just by
saving TRASH? There are companies that give us
cash and special supplies for our kids when we
send in their labels and box tops. All you have
to do is bring them in or send them in a marked
envelope with your child.
BINS ARE IN EACH SCHOOL FOR
CAMPBELLS LABELS FOR EDUCATION Save all of the
UPC codes from all Campbells Soups and look for
the Labels for Education logo on other
products. GENERAL MILLS BOX TOPS FOR
EDUCATION Look for the box tops logo on over 330
General Mills products! You can send in the logo
only. Schools receive .10 for each logo. If
you purchase items through the Betty Crocker
catalog, you can now designate a school to
receive 2 of your merchandise totals in cash via
the box tops program. GIANT EAGLES APPLES FOR
EDUCATION Look for info to come home soon on how
to sign up for your schools code(s). Once
signed up, a percentage of every purchase will
automatically be credited to your school. At the
end of the year, the school will receive a check
from Giant Eagle. ACME RECEIPTS Save your
register receipts from all purchases from Acme
stores. Turn them in and after the purchases are
tallied, a check for a percentage of every
purchase will be issued at the end of the year.
TARGETS TAKE CHARGE OF EDUCATION Get a Target
credit card and Target will donate one percent of
your Guest Card purchases to the school of your
choice. Register for the school youd like at
Target. They track purchases automatically all
year long and send the checks to schools twice a
year. TYSON FAMILY FOODS Look for the Project A
logo on many Tyson Products. You can send in the
logo only. Schools will receive a check at the
end of the year for the number of logos collected.

Be a part of the PIE Join PTA! The Green
Primary PTA would like to invite all families and
friends to join our PTA. It truly is a
worthwhile organization. The PTA mission is to
support and speak on behalf of children and
youth, to encourage parent and public involvement
and finally to assist parents in developing the
skills they need to raise and protect their
children. Our PTA supports, and is involved with
the following programs Book swap, Council Art
Show, Holiday parties, Volunteer program,
resource library, Reflections program, Parents in
Partnership Grants, Family programs, Giant Eagle
and Campbell soup label programs. As you can
see, we are an active PTA. Your membership in
the PTA is the perfect opportunity to become more
actively involved and more informed in your
childs education and in their school community.
Come to PTA meetings. Your child will be pleased
to know you are taking an active part in his/her
education. If you are unable to attend the
meetings, there are plenty of volunteer
opportunities to be done at home. Membership
dues are only 5.00 per person. As you can see
from above, the PTA budget supports many
programs please consider an additional
tax-deductible donation to help support them.
Its simple, just fill out and return both sides
of this form and attach your payment now youre

make our membership drive fun for the students,
so we are offering the following
