  • Kam-Ken Leung passed away peacefully in his
sleep on July 11, 2008 in his home in Concord,
California. He was 63. Kam-Ken is survived by his
beloved wife Kathy, son Norman, daughter Shirley
and her husband Paul brother Kent and his wife
Stephanie brother Kenneth and his wife Jane and
    father Tai-Hung of Hong Kong.
  • He will also be sadly missed by his classmates
at the Pui Ching Middle School in Hong Kong,
where he spent 8 years as an outstanding student
    colleagues at National Taiwan Universitys
medical school, where he spent 7 years in
training and co-workers at the Veterans
Administration Medical Center in Perry Point,
Maryland where he worked for nearly 30 years as a
    physician.
  • Kam-Ken was born in 1945 in WuChow, Kowsei in
China. As the youngest child, Kam-Ken was the
darling of the family, showered with attention by
    his cherished late mother Amy.
  • Times were tough when the family emigrated from
Canton, China to Hong Kong. They made ends meet
by working long hours in local grain mills.
Fortunately, Kam-Ken was spared the hard labor
since he was 11 years younger than his brother
Kent and 10 years than Kenneth.
  • Though his brothers wanted him to follow them to
the United States to study electrical
engineering, Kam-Ken wound up attending medical
school at National Taiwan University in Taipei,
where he met Kathy. After graduation, the two
married on June 27, 1971 and moved to the U.S.,
where Kam-Ken started his residency at New York
    Jewish Memorial Hospital.
  • They later moved to Bel Air, Maryland, where
they raised their two children, Shirley and
Norman. With great pride, Kam-Ken sent both of
his children to attend Princeton University.
  • Kam-Ken was active in his church, and he loved
to ballroom dance, training with a top-ranked
Russian dancing professional. He and Kathy
    received many awards in competitions.
  • Kam-Ken got tired of shoveling snow so after
retiring in July 2004 he and Kathy moved to
Northern California to be closer to his brothers.
They got together often, playing mah-jong or
    attending Pui Ching alumni activities.
  • Kam-Kens passing was a huge shock. Though his
life was shorter than we had hoped, those of us
he left behind take solace in the fact that
Kam-Ken enjoyed a wonderful life. We will always
remember his ever-smiling face, the infectious
sound of his laughter, and his enduring optimism.

Kam-Ken is not feeling well in Canton Nov. 8,
2007 Could not forget seeing my brother off at
the airport, Flying east to visit his old mother
land. It has been so long ... It is time to
see some familiar faces from this foreign
place, May be staying a while in Hong Kong where
his childhood spent. Suddenly, Kathy left
message, crying my brother is seriously sick. I
am so sorrowful, my heart throbs likes a roaring
wave, praying my brother to get well,
please. Thank heavens! There comes the sweetest
telephone call. He says, Our brother is out of
danger with no problem at all.
In Memory of Kam-Ken   July 11,
2008  Remember   last night, the brothers had
dinner together. This morning he quietly slips
away in his sweet dreams. He says, moving to
California to be closer to brothers, Loves to
dance Tango with Kathy in great grace. Days
ago, we laughed, promising we will grow old
together, Enjoying life for plenty of years to
come. Out of the blue, my brother has
a calling from heaven. Well, I know, someday,
we will sing together in God's embrace.  We
miss him so much
