Expectations of UCF Students

• To share information regarding their interests,
  goals, and academic plans and to be honest about
  their academic performance
• To be familiar with the 2007-2008 undergraduate
  catalog
• To adhere to all UCF deadlines
• To complete an advising appointment with their
  advisor PRIOR to Friday, October 12, 2007
  (withdrawal deadline)
• To check their e-mail on a daily basis and
  respond promptly
• To submit a final high school transcript
• and most importantly to understand
  
• ACADEMICS ARE PRIORITY 1

The Role of an Academic Advisor

• Assist students with the transition from high
  school to college
• Assist with interpretation of academic policies
  and degree audits
• Refer students to appropriate campus resources
• Assist students in defining and developing goals
• Assist student beyond schedule planning with
  personal, social, and academic needs

These are the adults who are on the front line
and are likely to have the most interaction with
students. Their mission is to support students
learning, and to assist them in making the most

• The average high school GPA for entering UCF
  freshmen was a 3.70
• The average high school SAT score for entering
  UCF freshmen was a 1201
• At the end of the fall 2006 semester, the average
  freshmen GPA was a 2.90
