Wildcat Softball
  • Welcome to the program.
  • Current changes
  • 7th 8th graders are able to try-out for the
high school softball program. Middle school fast
    pitch programs have been removed.
  • 7th and 8th graders are able to play at any level
at the high school. There is no longer gifted
athlete program in softball. What does this
    mean?
  • Each 7th and 8th grader will be required to hand
in their grades on the first day of try-outs. If
they do not have adequate grades, attendance or
classroom performance there is no need to try
    out.
  • With these changes, what should we anticipate
  • Having 4-5 teams at the high school level.
    This may include a 9th grade A and 9th grade B
    team.
  • We will be having a week try-out with the
possibility of cutting players. This will depend
on the numbers in the overall program and how
    many teams we can form.
  • With the times that the middle school releases
students, all practices will begin later. We
will be making sure that all players will attend
practices. Tentatively all practices will begin
    at 330.
  • All freshman teams and the sophomore team will
practice at the Northview wheel. JV will be at
the JV field and the varsity will have practices
    at the varsity field.
  • Games The sophomore team and freshman teams
will have games at the JV field and the varsity
field, alternating. All players will get to use
both the JV and varsity field for competition.
All teams will participate in at least one
    tournament, possible two.
  • It will be critical to have parent help in
assuring that all players from the middle school
have transportation to the high school for
practices as well as games. The high school
will NOT provide transportation to the high
school for practices. Players will also need
transportation to the high school for games. I
will provide transportation to all away games,
leaving from the high school. Anticipate
transportation to games only being one-way at
times. I will provide transportation both ways
when games are further away than 30 minutes.

  • We are in charge of
  • Preparing the fields, including putting up and
taking down fencing, water jugs on each bench,
concessions, selling of t-shirts, tickets sales
at three openings, blocking off other entrances
    (Portable fencing), some field maintenance,
    security, etc.
  • PLUS MORE!!!
  • I will be asking ALL parents and players from
freshman to seniors to help out in some
particular way. This committee will be meeting
    frequently to discuss items.
