HISTORY OF INFINITE CAMPUS
  • Campus was originally developed in 1996 as a
    web-based browser ever offered to customers.
  • Campus provides real time integration across the
    district with data entered once to be used by
    many.

  • Campus has been successfully implemented for
    customers of all sizes in 44 states. Infinite
    Campus customers range from districts with fewer
    than 100 students to those with more than 100,000
    as well as state departments of education and the
    federal government.

IMPLEMENTATION UPDATE
  • 19 Districts and KDE are live using Infinite
    Campus as of June 2008.
  • 36 Districts are scheduled to go live by July
    2008.
  • 176 Kentucky Districts are scheduled to be
    completed by June 2009.

  • Holds the tools commonly used by a classroom
    teacher for
  • taking attendance
  • generating a roster
  • lesson planner
  • gradebook

ATTENDANCE
  • There are 2 paths to accessing the attendance
    tool in Campus, the Process Inbox and the
    Attendance tool in the instruction module.

1. PROCESS INBOX
  • To access attendance from the Process Inbox,
  • click on the link Period Attendance Required.
  • Once attendance is saved for a particular
    period,
  • the reminder will disappear from the
  • Process Inbox.
  • If the teacher has taken attendance for all
    periods,
  • the Process Inbox will be empty at the end of
  • the day.

2. INDEX OUTLINE
  • To access attendance from the Index Outline,
  • expand the Instruction module and select
    attendance.
  • Select the tab for the period to take attendance
    in.
  • STOP Teachers are only allowed to enter
    attendance for the current day and must be
    entered by 845 a.m. Teachers CANNOT excuse an
    absence or tardy, teachers only report the
    attendance.

TAKING ATTENDANCE
  • To mark a student absent, select the A for
    absent,
  • To mark a student tardy, select T for tardy.
  • The comment box for each student can be edited
    once a student is marked absent or tardy.
  • Comments become part of the students attendance
    records and are visible in the attendance tools
    that are used to process attendance by the
    attendance clerk.
  • When finished taking attendance, click SAVE.

EDITING ATTENDANCE
  • If attendance needs to be changed after it is
    submitted, attendance must be accessed from the
    attendance tool in the Instruction module.
  • Select the period that needs to be edited and
    make any changes as needed.
  • When finished click SAVE.

ROSTERS
  • The roster lists the students name, phone number,
    and address.
  • Program flags are visible from the roster.
    Hovering on the flag will display additional
    information such as medical or custody issues.
  • Additional columns provide information if a
    student has an IEP or PLP, an icon will display
    in that particular column.
  • The gradebook icon will allow teachers to view
    the gradebook as it will look to students and
    their parents through the Portal in the near
    future.

LESSON PLANNER
  • Provides instructors a tool to set calculation
    preferences for Campus gradebook and create
    groups to organize assignments in the gradebook.
  • NOTE Your schools TEACHER COACH will provide
    additional training and more information on
    setting up preferences, groups, assignments, and
    activities for your gradebook.

GRADEBOOK
  • Web-based Campus Gradebook allows teachers to
    enter assignments and student scores from almost
    anywhere 24/7.
  • Your schools TEACHER COACH will provide
    additional training and more information on
    entering scores, comments, posting grades, and
    changing posted grades.

GRADEBOOK OVERVIEW
  • The student name and selected assignment will be
    highlighted in yellow.
  • Assignments will appear across the top of the
    gradebook .
  • The abbreviation and points possible will display
    across the top.
  • To see additional details, such as the name of
    the assignment, points possible and due date,
    hover over the abbreviation.
  • Teachers can enter individual scores and make
    additional comments in the gradebook that may be
    included on reports and on the portal.
  • Remember if your comment can not be read on the
    front of the local newspaper you DO NOT want to
    enter that comment in the computer.
