KnightLink Online Recruiting System Benefits
  • Resume Referral Over 30,000 resumes referred
    last year
  • On-Campus Interviewing Over 200 employers have
    come to UCF for on-campus interviewing. Through
    KnightLink, you can sign-up for interviews with
    companies for part-time and full-time career
    opportunities.
  • Job listings Over 30,000 jobs listed online
  • Market yourself Employers will have access to
    review CSELs database of student resumes by
    specific majors

KnightLink is free to all students, recent
graduates and members of the Alumni Association.
A 50 semiannual fee is assessed for non Alumni
Association members.

On-Campus Recruitment Process
  • Held during Fall/Spring semesters
  • Most companies pre-select candidates
  • Usually first-round, screening interviews
  • Application cycles often start 4-6 weeks in
    advance of the visit, so start early!

  • Attend CSEL Resume Writing and Interviewing
    Techniques Workshops or review online PowerPoint
    slides (visit the Downloads page at
    www.crc.ucf.edu)
  • Research companies, check for recruiting
    literature at CSEL
  • Only sign up in KnightLink for interviews where
    you meet the qualifications posted by the
    employer
  • Bring copies of your resume references with you
    to the interview
  • Arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of your
    scheduled interview session
  • Follow-up by sending a thank you note promptly
    afterwards

  • Required Interview Attire
  • A business suit (with jacket!) in a conservative
    color such as navy blue, gray or black
  • No visible tattoos or facial/body piercings
  • For men
  • A white, pressed shirt with an undershirt
  • A tie with a simple pattern
  • Polished shoes and matching leather belt
  • Socks that cover your leg and are at least as
    dark as your pants
  • For women
  • A white or light-colored shell or blouse
  • Polished, closed-toed shoes and skin-toned
    pantyhose
  • Skirts should traditionally be knee-length, but
    can be slightly above or slightly
    below.

  • Have your resume reviewed by a CSEL walk-in
    counselor
  • Schedule a practice interview or practice
    answering questions out loud on your own
  • Attend the companys information session (if one
    is scheduled)
  • Prepare a list of questions to ask the recruiter
    during the interview, based on job
    description/research
  • Connect skills/experience/education to the job
    opportunity
  • Bring a portfolio/notepad and pen to take notes
    at the interview
  • Verify location of interview (CSEL, CBA, or
    Rosen) using KnightLink
  • Reiterate your interest at the end of the
    interviewAsk for the job!

On-Campus Recruitment ProcessCancellation
Procedure No Show Policy
  • An interview is a formal commitment. If you must
    cancel, you must do so at least 2 business days
    in advance of your scheduled interview. Should an
    emergency arise the day of your interview, call
    CSEL immediately (no e-mails).

KnightLink The Basics
  • Login Enter your username (NID) and password
    (000).
  • Profile All fields marked with a red asterisk
    are required. If you want your resume visible in
    resume books, please select Yes in the Privacy
    section of your profile.
  • Documents Click on Documents, click Add New.
    Enter a name for the document to be uploaded and
    a document type. Select the document and then
    click Submit.
  • Job Search Click on Jobs and then Search. You
    can create saved searches.

Signing up for Interviews
  • Click on Jobs
  • If a job has a P or O in the Type column it
    has an attached schedule (Ppre-select schedule,
    Oopen schedule)
  • Click on the job, and submit your resume,
    following the instructions on the right side of
    the screen
  • Once an employer has Invited you to interview,
    you may sign up for an interview slot
  • Click on Interviews, Interview Requests
  • Choose Schedule Interview
  • On the Schedule Interview page, find the schedule
    date you would like to sign up for and select the
    radio button associated with the time slot you
    desire
  • Click Submit and your slot is reserved
  • Note If you do not want to accept the interview
    invitation, click on Decline Interview. If you
    decline the invitation, your application will be
    withdrawn and you will not be able to reapply for
    the position. Click Decline to confirm your
    decision.

  • Set up your own searches and have matching jobs
    e-mailed to you
  • Recognize youll have real competitionfrom UCF
