• Made of 24,300 silica fiber tiles that cover the
  outside of the orbiter. These tiles dissipate
  heat so quickly that you can touch them even when
  the center of the tile is still glowing red with
  heat.
• These tiles are reusable unless they are damaged
  in flight.
