SENATE MOTION 28 (2005-2006)

  • In keeping with these resolutions, ASUs
University College has already been developing
    enhanced transfer partnerships with various
community colleges statewide, both to increase
the accessibility and affordability of bachelor
degrees and to meet market demands in high need
areas, such as nursing and teacher education.
ASU has made significant progress building two
major partnerships, one with the Maricopa County
    Community College District (ASU/MCCCD Alliance
Program) and another with Central Arizona College
    (Transfer Advantage Partnership). Additional
partnership discussions are also underway with
Yavapai College and Arizona Western College.
  • Currently, there are two ASU degree programs that
have faculty approval to accept up to 75 lower
division credit hours from the community
    colleges. These include
  • The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies, with a
    concentration in Organizational Studies (BIS)
  • The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), for
transfer students who already possess an AAS in
Nursing and who are certified Registered Nurses
    (RNs).
  • Each partnership is based on a unique agreement.
The number of credit hours to be completed at ASU
will continue to be at least 45 upper division
    semester credit hours. University graduation
requirements will continue to be met under this
agreement. The agreement for acceptance of up to
75 lower division credit hours will only apply to
