Dale Gehring, Bryan Goodman, Elizabeth Merrill,

  • Financial Update (Dale)
  • Contracted with Kim Miller for Bookkeeping Avg.
    16 hrs/mo at 20/hr
  • Still working out kinks for processing invoices
    and other paperwork and timing to generate
    Balance Sheet and P L for Board
  • Current Balance Sheet and P L not completely
    reconciled with in process checks for deposit,
    etc. Dale will send out a reconciled Balance
    Sheet and P L by the end of January
  • Mfg. Workforce Strategy Update (Charlie)
  • 2008 is closed out and all money is spent.
  • Greg White, from OWIB, has approved the 2009 OMWS
    proposal, which primarily funds continuing
    Audreys work with the Community Colleges.
    Waiting for final approval from OWIB.
  • Julie reported that the Consortia reps are
    fairly unresponsive to continuing to work
    together to share and learn from each other.
    Julie will continue to pursue this action.
  • Event Updates (Julie)
  • Intro to Energy Mgmt Excellent first class with
    good feedback. Key to success having mentors
    from the energy world. Second class in
    discussion waiting for pricing from Elaine
    Prause. Will revise content to move away from
    high level statistical analysis and towards
    diving deeper into how to gather the data. Brett
    has offered to host a follow-up meeting, SIG
    style. Julie and Brett have the action to
    identify a date and time for the follow-up
    meeting.
  • Learn-Lead-Teach Will deliver three Intro to
    Lean classes and one 5S Kaizen the week of March
    23rd. Several companies considering hosting
    classes the following week. Julie will continue
    to work.
  • Dan Miller Very successful first event with us.
    Julie and Dan are in discussion to offer
    follow-up sessions for committed companies who
    want to dive deeper. Julie will provide updates
    as the plan comes together.
  • Mike Hoseus February 17th Toyotas H.R.
    Systems. Moved to Con-way due to more than
    expected sign-ups. Will have approximately 80
    attendees.
  • April 21st 23rd Practical Problems Solving
    Overview Session Workshop. Overview Session at
    Nike TWC and Workshop at Benchmade. Julie will
    announce this event the 1st week of March.
  • Mike Rother Learning to Lean Managing
    People Toyota Style March 17th 19th.
    Overview Session at Con-way and Workshop at Welch
    Allyn. Julie has announced to membership and
    will also offer seats to the other Consortia.
  • David Mann Creating a Lean Culture late
    summer/early fall. Several companies interested
    in hosting. Julie will continue to put this
    workshop together.
  • New Business
  • OMEP has asked several Board members to testify
    in Salem on OMEPs behalf.
  • Microchip asked to have their rebate applied to
    their 2009 membership dues in lieu of a check.
    The Board discussed this in length and agreed
    that allowing rebates to be diverted to cover
    membership dues or other fees doesnt support
    the intent of the rebate program.
