• Continued with Griffiths work and discovered DNA
  was the molecule for inheritance- there were
  still skeptics

• Experiments with viruses and radioactive DNA and
  protein provided convincing evidence that DNA was
  the genetic material

Erwin Chargaff- 1952

• Discovered base pair rules for DNA structure
• Adenine Thymine (A-T)
• Guanine Cytosine (G-C)

Rosalind Franklin and Maurice Wilkins1952

• Provided a photograph of the DNA molecule with
  the use of X Rays

James Watson and Francis Crick- 1953

• Used the X Ray picture of DNA to make a model
  that we still use today
