4
Goal 2
  • Developed procedural plan and documents
  • Received approval on these
  • Activities Researched/reviewed many documents,
procedural plans, books, etc. Used what we
thought would be the most appropriate for our
district and developed forms specific to our
    needs.

5
Goal 3
  • All staff will become familiar with RTI
    procedures, purpose, etc.
  • Activities Developed an instructional
strategies manual and provided it to all
instructional staff along with training on use of
    the manual

6
Overview of Challenges
  • Big Advantage
  • Our school already had the MAP assessment in
place. However, not everyone knew how to use the
    reports, etc.
  • We provided training on the various components
    (tests/subtests/Des Cartes use, etc.)

7
Another Plus
  • Our school had some components of SRA Reading
Mastery and Corrective Reading, as well as Number
    Worlds for math).
  • Activities Provided SRA Reading Mastery and
Corrective Reading Materials to those involved
with Number Worlds. Staff received training in
    the listed programs.

8
Another Plus
  • Our school has the Read to Achieve Grant. The
basic procedures have been in place with
DIBELS/GRADE assessments. However, this year we
changed from GRADE to TPRO, and from DIBELS to
    AIMSWEB.

9
Challenges
  • Training timeline
  • Ice storm
  • Electrical/technical problems
  • State testing
  • Still need to address some training issues

10
Another Challenge
  • Organization of our materials We discovered
several programs were already in the district.
    The problem locating all components/levels,
inventorying them, and finding the best place to
house the materials. An effective check-out
system needs to also be addressed.

11
Another Challenge
  • SPACE
  • We need an intervention room/lab. We are asking
for this with some of the stimulus money.

12
Another Challenge
  • Tech support
  • We need newer and more computers to run the
programs for the interventions, which will
    require more wiring.
  • We need fiber connecting us to the main campus.
This is also coming next year, via the use of
    stimulus monies.

13
Critical Pieces in the Development of the Tier
Program
  • Development of process, procedures, forms
  • Communication of above among all involved
  • Scheduling
  • Space
  • Getting everyone on board Ownership Its a
    regular education issue

14
Plan to Sustain Program
  • PD day at the beginning of the 09-10 calendar to
address training issues, including AIMSWEB and
    review of procedures/forms
  • District support of technology needs stimulus
monies will be used for fiber to school and
    hopefully an intervention lab.
  • Summer Scheduling changes will be addressed to
help with the location of and consistent
    provision of intervention.
  • Ongoing training (faculty meetings/teacher
planning days built into the calendar to address
    concerns/successes as they occur
  • CSIP- RTI written into school plan
