Perspective

• Scripture testifies that it is a fact Jesus
  did die for our sins.
• Matt. 121 1 Cor. 153
• But thats a fact and not the reason!
• Believing that Jesus died with us in mind shows
  that we have a very Elementary Perspective of why
  He died on the cross!

  spiritual understanding. Lets seek a better
  perspective on what He wanted to accomplish by
  dying on the cross.

• LOVE
• His love is His character. He IS love.
• His love is unconditionally motivated... not
  based on the objects of His Love, whether we were

• The offering of Jesus Christ Himself is the
  display and conclusive evidence that God is love.
  He chose to demonstrate who He was (Rom. 58).

• Jesus revealed Gods grace because He IS
  naturally gracious in character.
• He gave us what was according to His own good
  will and not based on whether we deserved it.
• Its one thing to love us its another thing to
  actually show it. The fact that He did
  demonstrate it was purely by His grace and for
  our grace, to that He is gracious (Eph. 28-9).

• 3 Reasons Why Jesus Died on the Cross
• HOLINESS
• Jesus dying to cleanse us from sin only proves
  that God is holy. We couldnt have otherwise
  brought our unholy selves into His holy presence.
  
• The fact that He is perfect in holiness is also
  the reason why only He could meet His own perfect
  standards of holiness.
• His death on the cross was the demonstration of
  not only His love and His grace, but also of His
  holiness. He proved His perfect standing as the
  one and only, absolutely unblemished sacrificial
  Lamb according to Gods perfect standards (1 Pet.
  116, 18-19).

• What does the moon do? She generates no light...
  cannot shine on. Apart from the sun, the moon is
  nothing more than a pitch-black, pockmarked rock.
  But properly positioned, the moon beams... The
  moon reflects the greater light. And shes happy
  to do so! The moon is at peace in her place. And
  because she is, soft light touches a dark earth.

• We disrespect His character and rob God of His
  glory!
• Instead of saying, Oh thats the kind of God I
  have, we rob God by saying, Oh thats how
  important I was to God. We make it about us and
  we make Him beneath us, as if He died to serve us
  and our need.

• How do we put the proper perspective into
  practice?
• We accept the real reason why He died on the
  cross. It wasnt us, but His glory that made the
  expensive price of the cross worth it. He counted
  it a joy to serve God (Heb. 122).
• Imitate Christ in that He lived His life and laid
  down His life to bring glory to God (Matt. 2642
  John 1227 Eph. 51 Heb. 109-10).
• If Christ died for us for His Fathers glory, is
  it too much for the Father to ask that we live
  for Him too?
