  Georgia
• Carpenters Hall, Philadelphia
• Peyton Randolph chosen to preside

Why did they meet?

• To express colonial grievances to King of Britain
• VERY FEW were considering breaking away from
  Britain at this point

What did they achieve?

• Several grievances were documented and sent to
  the King (primarily written by John Dickenson)
• Created the Continental Association which forbade
  trade with Britain
• Approved resolutions that began training citizens
  for war
