    written letters, but it is more formal than
    spoken communication.
  • Misunderstandings occur and can result in
    flaming, etc.

    get into problems.

    date order
  • delete old messages from time-to-time (take up
    disk space, often in your profile)
  • use folders to organise messages you are keeping
  • add a signature to your e-mail messages (keep
    it short and un-offensive!)
  • join mailing lists these regularly send messages
    about all sorts of topics, e.g. music, ancient
    history, politics
