Diet
  • Deer only eat foods found in the wild.
  • They eat leaves, twigs, wild mushrooms, acorns,
    and berries!
  • They have to look hard for most of their food.
  • The male deer gets most of the food.

Predators
  • Deer aren't predators they're prey.
  • They don't have that much protection.
  • A deer's predators are mountain lion, bob cats,
    coyote and bear.
  • Their main predator is the mountain lion.

Defense
  • Deer have three ways of protecting themselves.
  • One way is they run fast.
  • The second way is jumping far.
  • And the last way only male deer can do.
  • They use their antlers.

Habitat
  • Deer can't really go anywhere to be safe.
  • They do live in the mountains, along the coast,
    in the desert, and in the forest.
  • They also live in the woods and in the hills.

Babies
  • Mule deer have one or two babies at a time.
  • It takes them five or six months before having
    them.
  • The babies are born with white spots.
  • The white spots go away after two or three months.

Appearance
  • Deer have different appearances.
  • Mule deer are about three to four feet tall.
  • They weigh up to two hundred pounds.
  • Looks on deer aren't always what they seem to be.
