Ultrasound Case Brachialis Myositis

• Diagnosis Brachialis Myositis.
• History Young woman with arm pain with onset
  several days following viral upper respiratory
  infection. No history of trauma.
• Findings Patient has history of viral illness.
  There is diffuse increased echogenicity within
  the brachialis muscle (br) resulting from muscle
  edema. The adjacent biceps (b) is normal.
  Hhumerus.
• Treatment Conservative, anti-Inflammatory
  medications prescribed.

• Diagnosis Brachialis Myositis.
• History Young woman with arm pain with onset
  several days following viral upper respiratory
  infection. No history of trauma.
• Findings Reformatted coronal image of the
  brachialis from 3D data set shows diffuse
  involvement of the muscle. The patient was
  treated conservatively for a viral myositis. The
  pain and swelling resolved with conservative
  management.
• Treatment Conservative, anti-Inflammatory
  medications prescribed.
