4
Benefits of Electronic Assignments
  • Electronic assignments can
  • eliminate clutter
  • reduce the likelihood of lost assignments
  • assist in identifying academic dishonesty

5
Benefits of Web-Based Systems
There are many methods of electronic assignment
submission. As with paper assignments, there are
problems with each method. Examples are
Diskette.
Loss and corruption
Local Area Network (LAN).
Manual creation of folders and permissions users
must be connected to the LAN
Plain Text Email...
Submissions cannot be formatted
Email Attachment........
The process cannot be controlled by the users
system variations exist document size is limited
Many of the benefits of using a web-based system
are due to the fact that they can minimize and,
in some cases, remove the problems associated
with other forms of electronic assignment
submission. Web-based assignment submission
requires a specialized system, which can often be
part of a larger, expensive system.
Essignments.com, however, was developed
exclusively for web-based assignment submission
and is currently available on the Internet free
of charge.
6
Benefits of essignments.com
  • Web-based design makes it easy to use from
    anywhere there is Internet access
  • Supports unlimited users
  • Users maintain their own accounts
  • Supports any file format from any PC platform
  • Provides an archive of student work
  • Allows for multiple courses and assignments
  • Instructors can define submission parameters
  • Allows packaging of assignments for grading
