• Basic hot dog ingredients are casings and
  mechanically separated meat
• Casings are made from strands of cellulose

• Mechanically separated meat - edible animal
  part that has been forced, along with bones and
  attached edible tissue through a machine that
  mechanically separates the bone from the meat,
  creating a paste-like and batter-like meat
  product

How Theyre Made

• Made through an entirely mechanical process
• Takes only a few hours

• Pieces of mechanically separated meat are cut and
  ground into small pieces and blended with spices
• Blend is fed into cellulose casing
• Links are measured and created

• Raw hot dogs are sent to a smoke house to be
  smoked and cooked
• After cooked, they are rinsed with cold water and
  stripped
