Ambulatory Committee

    vendor communities, the Ambulatory Information
    Systems Steering Committee expands HIMSS ability
    to increase the quality and cost-effectiveness of
    patient care by removing barriers to IT adoption,
    and increasing the use of EHRs and Business
    Systems Integration in physician offices and
    outpatient care settings.

Davies CHO Award
  • HIMSS plans to announce the expansion of the
    Davies Award of Excellence program to include the
    Davies Community Health Organization (CHO) Award
    in the first quarter of 2008.
  • The purpose of this award is to recognize CHOs
    that have succeeded with implementations of
    Electronic Health Records (EHR) in their clinics
    and to share their approaches and lessons learned
    more broadly. 
  • Application requirements such as What Services
    must be Rendered, definition of What Counts as
    an EHR, Length of required EHR Implementation,
    are currently under development and will be
    provided with the launch of the Award.
