Objective of the Development Checklists
  • Provide a concise list of elements for 4R PSE
    development.
  • Provide consistency among PSEs.
  • Identify the point when key activities crucial to
    the advancement of the PSE should be completed.

Use
  • Each checklist progressively advances the project
    elements.
  • Activities required to advance the design to the
    next phase are included to place emphasis on
    completing those activities at the appropriate
    time.

Use
  • The originator initials each element that is
    completed, marks I for incorporation, or marks
    N/A if element is not applicable.
  • Having the originator validate that they have
    completed each element allows a significant
    number of those elements to be advanced without
    further review.

  • Key design element are advanced into the 50
    70 submittals
  • Reduced effort has been built into the 95 100
    submittals
  • 95 PSE is considered advertisement ready
  • 100 PSE is essentially a delivery checklist

  • Lessens the last minute massive design effort
  • Provides for a complete review package at 70
  • Controls the advancement of development and
    identifies causes for slip.

Location of Checklists
  • The checklists are located under the Design
    Resources tab on CFLHDs website found at
    http//www.cflhd.gov/design/index.cfm.

Whats Next
  • Development of a 4R PSE review checklist that
    provides a complete record of the elements
    reviewed.
  • The checklist identifies those elements that are
    key to the quality of the PSE.
  • Does not include the minor elements that are
    validated by the Development Checklists.
