What a Computer can do

• Calculate very fast
• Make no errors, if programmed correctly
• Never get tired and need to rest, as long as
  there is power.
• Is neutral and unbiased, does not form a judgment
  or have a prejudice. Can be operated by anyone
  regardless of race, religion, sex, intelligence,
  age

• Think and Create on its own.
• Create a Poem or write a novel
• Create art with meaning
• Think and act like a living breathing animal.
• Direct itself as a human can do.
• Be aware of itself and its place in the world.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

• A part of computer science that tries to design
  computers that think like a person.
• A computer with AI could perform such tasks as
  understanding language, planning to accomplish
  goals, learning from experience, and see the
  world through vision, hearing, and other senses.

• A mechanical device that operates automatically.
  May show some AI (artificial intelligence).
• They are especially suitable for doing jobs too
  boring difficult, dangerous for people.
• Robots efficiently carry out such routine tasks
  as welding, drilling, and painting automobile
  body parts.

Input Devices

• Keyboard a set of switches that allows data to
  be entered as letters and numbers
• Mouse a hand held pointing device that allows
  easy movement of the courser.
• Joystick used in games or simulator type
  programs.

  we can understand. Common examples of these are

History and Impact of Technology!

• When did Technology begin?
• People have been using and creating technology
  since prehistoric times.
• Many thousands of years ago, entire civilizations
  were using tools and developing techniques for
  using them to work on various materials.

The Stone Age

• The period of time from about 1million
  (1,000,000) years ago to 3000 B.C.
• During this time tools were made from stone and
  animal bones.
• Dugout Canoe / Bone Needle are examples of some
  of their technology.

Agricultural Age

• The invention of the Plow in Egypt let people
  grow their own food. People began to settle into
  towns and villages. Civilization became
  agricultural rather than nomadic.
• People wove flax (a plant) into cloth, used oil
  lamps for light, invented the wheel wheeled
  transportation, built roads and stone houses,
  learned how to irrigate.

• The Waterwheel was used to convert the energy of
  a waterfalls into useful energy to help grind
  grain into flower.
• Also used to help saw wood for home building

• The industrial age began with the Industrial
  Revolution in the late 1700s.
• People were employed in factories, machines
  replaced human animal muscle, steam and
  electricity powered the machines with people
  controlling them.
