    adapt.
  • That a volcanic eroption changed the Earths
climate and the dinosaurs could not adapt.

5
Importance of This Misconception
  • This is an important misconception for children
to understand because with so many misconceptions
out there, it is best for them to get a good base
of knowledge about the two most popular theories
so they will be able to make an informed guess on
    what happened.

6
USA Today SurveyWhat 4th graders think happened
to the dinosaurs?

    Henderson to explain one theory.

Lesson Plan
  • We will have a volcano activity to explain the
    second theory.

Conclusion
  • No one really knows what happened to the
    dinosaurs.
  • The two most accredited theories are that an
asteroid hit the Earth or that a volcano erupted
    changing the Earths climate.
  • Having the children explore their own ideas.

13
Important for future teachers
  • Because there is not one correct answer it is
important for teachers to learn all you can about
the all different theories so you will be able to
handle any question that your students may come
    up with in the future.
