  • How does the Time Bank work
  • Time Bank is a web based system
  • It requires each member to set up their own
    profile (support is available from the Project
    Manager)
  • It will take about ½ day to complete
  • Allows you to upload case studies and training
    materials and access them from other members
  • Allows you to evaluate any time exchanged with
    other members.

  • Who will I find in the Time Bank
  • You will find other UK highway authorities and
    their partners.
  • This will include
  • road safety officers and managers, safety
    engineers, crash investigators, educationalists,
    data analysts
  • you may also find police, fire and rescue
    officers, private and public partners, the
    Highways Agency

  • What subjects do they cover?
  • Information on child pedestrians, motorcycle
    initiatives, Home Zones Safer Routes to School
    enforcement intelligent use of accident data,
    young drivers can already be found in the Time
    Bank
  • The subjects covered will expand with every new
    member

  • What type of support are they offering?
  • This will depend on the member and the subjects
    they are covering, but support could be
  • Over the phone advice
  • Consultancy time at yours or their offices
  • Access to products and resources
  • Proofing or editorial work
  • Access to their courses and training days

  • How much time will I need to give?
  • Only what you think you can manage and not less
    than you think you will take
  • Even a few days will give you access to training,
    support or consultancy
  • Typically between five to ten days per year

  • What if the help I need is not covered by the
    Time Bank members?
  • The best possible chance of finding the support
    that you need in one place.
  • You can ask the other members for help on topics
    not listed
  • You can also still use the traditional commercial
    training route.

  • What sort of support would we be expected to
    provide?
  • Depends upon the subject you are offering
  • What you feel you can offer
  • What the needs of the member youre helping are

    they offer?
  • Every member has their own home page within the
    Time Bank and will include
  • Information on the member
  • What each member is offering
  • What each member needs
  • Case studies and training materials

  • Progress so far
  • The Time Bank is now up and running
  • New members are being signed up
  • 80 other local highway authorities, have
    expressed an interest
  • Currently only available to local authorities,
    but it will be extending to partners
  • so watch this space
