  • Office Max provides office supplies, paper,
    technology products, furniture, and business
    solutions to large, medium and small businesses
    and consumers.
  • OfficeMax operates in the United States, Canada,
    Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico. They
    also have a strategic partnership with the
    European Office Supplies Alliance, which spans 19

  • 1901 Horders opens first store
  • 1929 Seven story building is built in Chicago
    and serves Horders until 1964.
  • 1964 - Horders building becomes headquarters for
    Boise Cascade Office Solutions.
  • 1976 Boise office solutions moves to new,
    modern facility in Itasca, Illinois.
  • 1988 OfficeMax founded.
  • 1989 OfficeMax expands to 11 stores.
  • 1991 OfficeMax spreads into 15 states.
  • 1993 300 Stores in 38 states.
  • 1990-94 Boise grows to 30 distribution centers.
  • 1995 OfficeMax reaches the web.
  • 1995 CopyMax introduced, store-within-store
    concept
  • 1996-97 OfficeMax expands to 500 stores in 47
    states.
  • 2003 Boise office solutions completes
    acquisition of OfficeMax and chooses to keep the
    name.
  • 2005 CopyMax changes its name to OfficeMax
    Print and Document Services.
