Presentation with beamer led to serious eye damage

• What happened?
• The incident occurred during an organised
  webcast.
• Camera position was not known to the presenter,
  hence where to stand or where to look. The remote
  participants asked the presenter to move until in
  view, which ultimately placed the presenter in
  the projector beam,looking toward it. Here they
  delivered a 45 minute presentation.
• Upon finishing, the presenter had discomfort and
  very poor vision. The symptoms persisted and the
  following morning the presenter reported blurred
  vision and blind spots with no vision ahead.
• The victim was diagnosed that morning with a
  burnt cornea, probably through standing in the
  beam of a projector for a long period. The
  condition remains and the victim requires further
  treatment diagnosis.

• A pre-live test will help assure a
  successful presentation but also your comfort
  and safety
• Do not present within the line of a projector
  beam. Also, direct gaze away from beamer itself
