  • A macro is a sequence of Word commands that is
    recorded and
  • stored for later use. Macros can speed up
    document creation.
  • Choose Tools, then select Macro pick Record
    New Macro
  • Be sure to read Record a macro in Word.doc on
    your diskette.

  • Record Macro dialog box appears
  • Type a name for the macro. Dont use a native
    Word command!!
  • Check the names of Word commands by picking
    Macros
  • Store the macro in the correct template
    (Normal.dot if used again)
  • Type a description for the macro (so you dont
    forget)

    either the Toolbar or
  • the Keyboard button
  • Pull the command button up to the toolbar or
    type a keyboard code

The Spike
  • The Spike is a form of AutoText that you can
    use to gather up text
  • you want to cut from various locations in
    the document.
  • To activate the Spike, highlight the text to be
    cut and press Ctrl F3
  • Repeat as necessary to get all the text (and
    graphics) you want
  • To paste the contents of the Spike, press Ctrl
    Shift F3
