Title: Accelerated Learning Whole Brain Reading is a totally new experience

1
Accelerated LearningWhole Brain Reading is a
totally new experience
Learning how to utilize the powers and
capabilities of the right brain is fun and easy.
We simply have to understand the principles of
accelerated learning. However we must accept
that there is a problem with the way we currently
read.
  • The Problem
  • We were taught to read in a linear fashion-word
    for word, slowly.
  • We read at the same rate as when we were
    children.
  • We tend to have low comprehension of what we read
    and we retain very little.
  • Our left-brain approach is very limited. We
cannot read much faster in this manner.
  • The Solution
  • Apply accelerated learning principle to
understand how to engage the right brain
effectively in absorbing masses of information at
a very high rate of speed.
  • We can then operate up to our full potential- as
    a whole-brained human being.

2
The Psychological Perspective Understanding the
total human nature.
  • We have a Functional nature with our thinking and
    feeling capabilities.
  • We have a Being nature which concerns our level
of awareness and the kind of energy our functions
    use in their operation.
  • We have a Will nature which is who we are in our
    essence as an individual.

Will
Being
Function

  • Educating and re-educating all three elements of
our nature is the journey of personal development
and is the basis for continuous education
    throughout life.
  • We are concerned with overcoming the defects of
our left brain oriented education and embarking
on a journey of whole brain learning which
addresses the needs of all three elements of our
    nature in an integrated fashion.

Whole Brain Reading involves inviting the right
brain with its speed and powers to participate in
the task of absorbing information off the printed
page and integrating the organizational
capabilities of the left hemisphere allowing the
whole brain to operate for peak performance.

  • The Principles of Accelerated Learning
  • The condition for accelerated learning is Alpha
    brain rhythms.
  • To enter an Alpha brain rhythm state we have to
    be relaxed.
  • We must be sensitive to our purpose or aim.
  • We must have a quiet mind.

Brain Waves
7
Retraining the eyes to see holistically rather
than linearly.
Left Brain Reading The eye movement is jerking
from one word to the next and goes all over the
page unintentionally resulting in very little
contact with the meaning of the text. We also
sub-vocalize the words to ourselves.
8
Right Brain Reading The eye movement is
fluid-seeing the whole- and absorbs the meaning
while going too fast for sub-vocalization.
9
  • Belief System Change
  • You can read fast too. Believe it!!!
  • Whole Brain Reading is an avenue to understanding
how we can break through our limiting belief
    system attitudes.
  • Changing our belief from I can not possibly
absorb information at a high rate to I can and
I will get everything I need from this text
rapidly now can occur quickly with confirmation
and acceptance of the capabilities of the right
    brain.
  • Belief system change requires formulating our aim
and acting with purpose, persistence, commitment,
and decision. These are powers of the Will which
    enable genuine change.

10
  • Whole Brain Reading as a Practice
  • Retraining the eyes to see holistically rather
than linearly when reading requires hand/eye
    coordination training.
  • This training must be experienced in a workshop
setting in consideration of the accelerated
learning principles and the deep problems
associated with true belief system change.
  • Hand/eye coordination exercises can have rapid
results in getting to seeing the whole however
they require repeated practice and experience.
  • The exercises are best shared with only a small
group at a time due to the importance of
individual attention and peer group support.

11
  • Value of Whole Brain Reading practices
  • Absorbing relevant information in accordance with
    your reading purpose.
  • Getting the knowledge that you require more
    efficiently and effectively.
  • Understanding how to apply that knowledge toward
    your stated aim.
  • Enables true Creative Thinking and real problem
    solving.
  • Enables understanding the higher functions of the
    mind.
  • Reveals value of trusting the extraordinary power
of the brain to do its own work.

12
Developing New Neural Pathways
Learning new ways to see the page helps develop
new neural pathways by increasing the number of
dendrites and their length. This enables more
connections between the brain cells and practice
of the techniques establishes new neural pathways.
13
  • Powers and Capabilities of the Right Brain
  • Lightening speed. Sees in a flash the whole and
    connections between the parts.
  • Multi-tasking. Simultaneously sees the meaning
and applies it to your reading purpose. Is able
to creatively think about the content while you
    are reading.
  • Systems Thinking. Recognition of the totality of
levels of meaning inherent in the structure of
the system you are utilizing. Sees the
connections within the system relative to the
    systems structure.

14
  • Levels of Energies of Mind
  • Creative. Free thinking which comes to us
    revealing new insights.
  • Conscious. Higher thinking which sees the whole.
  • Sensitive. Thinking is attentive to a chosen
    aim.
  • Automatic. Thinking goes by itself without
    intention or direction.

15
  • Paradigm Shifts in a Rapidly Changing World
  • The current pace of change is staggering and
    dramatically increasing.
  • Paradigms are shifting with such rapidity that
the new becomes old and obsolete with such
    rapidity that it is baffling.
  • Seeing the future is essential to understand
where we are and where we are going.
  • Capability to change is essential to
understanding who we are and who we can become.
