  • Girls dressed just like their mothers, wearing
    long dresses
  • Little boys wore long dresses until they were six
    years old. After that, they dressed like the men
    in pants.
  • Every day except Sundays the pilgrims wore
    bright colored clothing.

  • Men and women wore black and grey clothes on
    Sundays
  • Women wore long woolen dresses, and white caps
  • Men wore woolen jackets called doublets and pants
    called breeches
  • Men would also wear a tall, stiff black hat

  • Pilgrims ate the same food on the ship, day after
    day
  • Salted beef called (salt horse)
  • Dry biscuits and some butter
  • Dried peas and beans
  • It was too dangerous to built a fire to cook
    their food so they ate cold food most of the time

    the same things for months at a time?

  • Pilgrims would fill their chest with

  • Swords or guns for protection
  • Tools for building a house
  • What ever did not fit in the chest would be left
    behind!
