  University of Illinois Campus in 1919
• Student petition on November 3, 1919 to accept
  the Philippine Illini as a university
  organization

• 5 board members
• President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer,
  and an Elected Member
• 22 active members
• Purpose of the association
• to render assistance in any way possible to
  Filipinos coming to the University of Illinois
• to promote fellowship among the Filipinos and
  between the Filipinos and their friends in the
  University

• 5 initiation fee 0.50/month
• Regular meetings every 1st and 3rd Sunday at 4pm
• Original members were quite prominent in terms of
  Filipino history

• Felix Maramba built coconut oil-fueled power
  generator and developed profitable biogas system
• Concepcion Maramba recipient of the
  Presidential Award of Merit, businesswoman
