• 4 Houses two Pupil Support Teachers per House
• First year intake of between 7 and 8 classes
• Each Pupil Support Teacher usually has one new S1
  class
• Each Pupil Support Teacher usually has 6 classes
  in their House group (S1 to S6)

• As students move through the school, they keep
  the same Pupil Support Teacher
• Where possible, students keep the same
  Registration Teacher (15 min at start of day)
• Where possible, students are kept in same House
  group as their older brothers or sisters

• Pupil Support Teachers meet P7 pupils and Primary
  Head Teachers twice during May
• Learning Support staff maintain close links with
  primary school and will meet with P7 staff during
  the year
• PT Pupil Support and PT Curriculum (Additional
  Support Needs) attend all transitional review
  meetings
• Group work / pre-visit visits organised

• 3½ day visit to the Academy.
• Monday 15th to Thursday 18th June
• Monday afternoon
• Primary schools bring students to the Academy
• Students are split up into their new classes
• Meet Pupil Support Teacher, Register Teacher and
  S6 Guides
• Get copy of new timetable and the Academy
  Survival Guide
• Shown assembly points and given tour of school
• Cashless catering cards will be issued

• 3½ day visit to the Academy.
• Tuesday to Thursday
• New S1 Students will travel to school as normal
  (bus, walk, etc.)
• S6 Guides will meet the pupils at bus bays at
  school bell and show classes to their
  registration class
• Students follow new S1 timetable and start S1
  work
• Students will be escorted between classes by S6
  Guides
• Earlier and extended lunch arrangements are in
  place during visit. All S1 pupils remain on
  campus.

• Teaching PSE to the guidance group S1 to S6
• PSE (Personal Social Education) students
  involved in a variety of activities and lessons
  which help them in making decisions about school,
  careers and social issues.
