As you may recall

• We provide Behavioral Academic and Career
  Counseling
• We are a supplemental advisory system
• BACC is supervised by Dr. Malott
• And operated by BATS MA Students

Graduation scarier than youd think

• You cant just pass the classes anymore! There
  are many things that cant be put on the back
  burnerbut the BACC burner perhaps? ?
• Audits
• Credit Hours
• Plans post-graduation

Did I mention the BACC Burner?

• We can help you with those things! After all,
  these may be your last couple years of fun before
  the real worldwhy shouldnt you take advantage
  of these things that make your life easier?
• Youll have to jump through hoops once you have a
  career or get into Graduate School why should
  you have to jump just to get there?

• Regardless of what area you are interested in, we

Ive had jobs before, you think I dont know how
to get a job?!?

• We arent just talking jobs though we are
  talking a career. Something you could feasibly
  support yourself with. You will need
• References
• Resumes
• And a good idea of where to apply to whos
  hiring, who would make a good employerand see,
  we got connections!

Or you want to put off the real world for a bit
(grad school) valid life choice!

• In that case, you will need to know about
• Deadlines
• Applications
• Vitas
• Letters of Recommendation
• Taking the GRE

Dont be Scurred!

• Just get ready to enjoy the company of your
  instructor outside of class!
• Together, the two of you will fill out a
  wonderful form you may recognize as the How to
  Achieve Your Goals form!
• Yep thats the one!

Quick Reminders

• The 1st appointment is mandatory
• If you would like another appointment, that is an
  available option!
• You earn 20 participation points for having this
  appointment
• However, you cannot use OAPs to opt outnot that
  you would! Because we are cool see???

And now we performance contract!

• After youve decided on some goals, you and the
  MA student will put together a performance
  contract. It may look a little something like
  this

Which may end up looking like this

OAPs

• Can be earned for
• Signing a performance contract (if you choose to
  do so) and completing the task
• Having a follow up appointment (such as in
  reference to a signed performance contract).
• Each of these actions will earn you 10 OAPs.

But, even this is not without aversive control

• If you fail to show up for your appointment and
  you dont call, you will lose 10 points.
• You will also lose points for not fulfilling the
  terms of your performance contract.

For those self-starters

• The reason these are mandatory is NOT because we
  think you are
• Lazy
• Incompetent
• Lost without us
• Stubborn
• Its just that this process is confusing (i.e.
  aversive), and without deadlines and a good
  guide, there is too much room for
  procrastinationand before you know it, you are
  45 years old, unemployed, and camping out on mom
  and dads couch

• Theres so much to do, and because we like you,
  and want you to do well, theres help available!
• GRE
• Grad School Applications
• Resumes
• Letters of Recommendation
• Being a productive member of society
• Those are things that freaked me out in
  undergradso hopefully we can save you from some
  sleepless nights!

So have an idea of your passions

• And we will guide you in the right directions,
  whether you are interested in
• Graduate School for
• Cognitive Psych, Behavior Analysis, Counseling
  Psych or something else
• Or a Career and you need to know
• Where there are job opportunities, how to put
  together your resume, getting good references and
  so forth
