Introduction
  • This presentation is about the Tawny Owl, Barn
    Owl and European Eagle Owl. The tawny owl lives
    in the woodland in much of Europe and southern
    Asia.

What do they look like?
The barn owl is handsome bird with small black
eyes and a white tummy also large wingspan.
The Tawny Owl has a wingspan of 1008mm and weighs
around 478g, they are around 45cm tall. It has a
face like a satellite dish. The Tawny Owl cannot
move their eyes but can turn their head 270
degrees. This bird will migrate.
The European Eagle Owl has a wingspan of 2
metres. It is the owl in the world and is 70cm
tall. It looks really vicious. They have a circle
on their face.

Food and Hunting
The European Eagle Owls biggest prey is a small
deer. They hunt with their Talons. First they
creep up to their prey and kill it with their
Talons and eat what they want then go.
The barn owl eats voles also shrews, mice, bird
and other small mammals.
The Tawny Owl will eat wood mice, bank voles,
shrews, rats and rodents and other small mammals

Habitat
European Eagle Owls live in hollow tree tops,
rocky areas, semi-deserts and also in woodland
areas.
Barn owls live in buildings and large tree and
rock facilities .
