How Do We Know What God Is Like?

• What He likes and doesnt like
• What pleases Him and what doesnt
• This Question brings us to JESUS
• God is not playing some cosmic game of
  hide-and-go-seek.
• He put on Flesh and Bone

Fully God Fully Man

• Jesus words are Gods words (1249)
• Jesus actions are Gods actions (1410)
• Whoever knows Jesus know God (147)
• Whoever has seen Jesus has seen God (149)
• Whoever hears Jesus hears God (1424)
• Whoever loves Jesus loves God (1421)
• Whoever hates Jesus hates God (1523)
• Jesus and God are one

Dwelt

• John 114
• In the Greek it means literally to throw up a
  tent
• Revelation 211-3 uses same Greek word
• There will be a new heaven and a new earth and a
  dwelling of God among men
• So in view of Gods eternal reign over all
  things, it says that heaven is a tent of the Lord
  among men

Comparison

• Neighbor 1 builds monstrosity of a house
• Mote, 12 foot fence, barbed wire, guard dogs
• The message is, I dont want to interact with
  you
• Neighbor 2 throws up a tent
• When you mow, get the mail, wash the car.. There
  he is all the time
• It seems if instead of building a mansion, you
  built a tent, there would be a lot of interaction
  between us

He wants to be known

• You see, everything we could ever know about God
  is found in Jesus because Jesus is God
• Its what separates us out from what other
  religions believe
• We dont follow a prophet but God in the Flesh!
• Colossians 115 He is the image of the
  invisible God.

• How do we know what God is like?
• His interaction with the woman at the well
• His interaction with the disciples
• He doesnt prefer the spiritual elite but the
  anybodies
• His interaction with the Pharisees
• His heart for those genuinely seeking Him
• That the children loved Jesus

• So when you watch and study the life of Christ
  you learn about the life and heart of God.
