1
Why Jesus Did Not Reject Apostle Peter?
  • 31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan
hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as
    wheat
  •  32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith
fail not and when thou art converted, strengthen
    thy brethren.
  • Luke 2231-32
  • October 5, 2008

2
Apostle Peter A Stone
  • Cephas A Stone Fidelity to Christ
  • John 141-42
  • 41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and
saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which
    is, being interpreted, the Christ.
  • 42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus
beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of
Jona thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by
    interpretation, A stone.
  • Peter A Disciple Submission to Christ
  • Luke 510-11
  • 10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of
Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And
Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not from henceforth
    thou shalt catch men.
  • 11 And when they had brought their ships to land,
they forsook all, and followed him.

3
Apostle Peter His Faith
  • Peter His Weak Faith
  • Matthew 1429-31
  • 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come
down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to
    go to Jesus.
  • 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was
afraid and beginning to sink, he cried, saying,
    Lord, save me.
  • 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his
hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou
of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
  • Peter His Firm Faith
  • Matthew 1618
  • And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my church and
the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

4
Apostle Peter His Love
  • Peter His Failed Love
  • Luke 2260-62
  • 60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou
sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the
    cock crew.
  • 61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter.
And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he
had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou
    shalt deny me thrice.
  • 62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
  • Peter His Firm Love
  • John 2117
  • He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of
Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because
he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me?
And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all
things thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus
saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Lively Stones
  • I Peter 25-6
  • 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a
spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up
spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus
    Christ.
  • 6 Wherefore also it is contained in the
scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner
stone, elect, precious and he that believeth on
    him shall not be confounded.
  • Jesus Christ is the Chief Cornerstone.
  • You, the Christians, are lively stones or a
    spiritual house.
  • You, the Christians, are an holy priesthood.
