MISSION STATEMENT
  • The Mission of the Unemployment Insurance (UI)
    Disaster Preparedness Workgroup is to develop and
    oversee strategies, processes, and procedures to
    guide state (UI) agencies response to a Mass
    Unemployment Event that requires interstate
    assistance to continue or augment the agencys
    ability to deliver UI services in a timely
    manner. Timely and effective communications, and
    program integrity are paramount to paying
    benefits and processing UI tax collections when
    due.

VISION STATEMENT
  • The Unemployment Insurance (UI) Disaster
    Preparedness Workgroup will facilitate the
    development, implementation, and testing of
    standardized processes, procedures, UI inventory,
    and communications plans that initiate interstate
    cooperation and assistance for continuity of UI
    operations in the event of a Mass Unemployment
    Event. The Workgroup will develop a methodology
    for periodically updating the plans and
    procedures so they remain current.
