In the beginning

• Enzo Ferrari was born in 1898, he spent much of
  his formative years as a racing driver. He joined
  Alfa Romeo in 1920 as a driver then moved to the
  technical and design side. In 1929, Alfa Romeo
  withdrew from motor racing and Ferrari took over
  their workshops under the name Scuderia Ferrari.
• It was after World War 2, in 1947 that the first
  'true' Ferrari single seater design was produced
  and Ferrari soon gained a reputation for
  reliability.

1949

• One of Ferraris first racers, Ferrari 125 on
  its way to winning the 1949 Grand Prix of
  Czechoslovakia.

• This was the first Grand Prix ever in the US.

1975

• Land speed record for the flying mile was broken
  by Robert Horne, 33, who clocked an average
  191.64 mph in his Ferrari 512M on the Concorde
  runway at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire.

1985

• Enzo Ferrari died in 1989. After his death,
  Scuderia Ferrari struggled to come to terms with
  the loss of its founder.
• They did however, continue to make many road
  vehicles.

1990

• The late 80s and early 90s were lean years for
  Ferrari racing, but that was about to change

1995

• In 1995 Michael Schumacher became Ferraris 1
  driver and went on to win 4 Formula 1 driving
  titles.

1995

• 1995 was also a good year for Ferraris road
  cars, when they produced Ferraris most infamous
  F1 inspired roadster, the F50.

2004

• Ferrari still dominates Formula 1, with first and
  second place in points. Schumacher currently has
  twice as many points as the next non-Ferrari
  driver.

2004

• Ferrari continues to produce cutting edge road
  cars such as the Enzo which can be purchased for
  close to 2 million.
