Introduction to PMI Strategic Alignment Process
  • The PMI SAP has been developed as a means for PMI
to ensure that all components are aligned to the
PMI Strategic Plan and the Balanced Scorecard.
  • This alignment is to be determined by components
providing a set of Services each of which are
associated with a PMI Strategic Plan Objective.
This will ensure that the community's services
will be aligned to the PMI Strategic Plan and
supports the overall direction of PMI.

5
Introduction to PMI Strategic Alignment Process
  • The Services that communities can deliver to
provide value to members are segmented into Core
    and extended Services.
  • Core services must be provided by the community
  • Extended services are additional services that a
community may provide to improve value to members
  • Each Core service has a measure and a minimum
    level the community must provide
  • Will only be looking at core services in this
    session

6
Introduction to PMI Strategic Alignment Process
  • Why does PMI want all components
aligned?Answer To ensure consistent value to
    members from all components.
  • What does a component do to demonstrate it is
    aligned or achieve alignment?Answer Each
    component completes the Strategic Alignment
Scorecard that contain details of all core
services and the minimum levels that PMI would
    like all components to provide.
  • The scorecard allows a component to
  • see what the core services are and
  • for the component to set itself targets for the
level of service that they will provide
  • .
  • The next workshop details the business plan that
    shows how the component will
  • achieve the targets it has set itself and
  • implement the core services that it is yet to
    provide.
