• Mission
• Ensure that Sustainability is at the heart of all
  that North Tyneside does
• Lead delivery of the Councils Sustainability
  strategies, policies and initiatives including
  the Sustainable Development Strategy and the
  Climate Change Strategy
• Provide a pool of resource and expertise to
  advise upon all aspects of Sustainability as a
  cross cutting service to all Council teams.

• Deliver LAA commitment to reduce North Tyneside
  CO2 emissions by 11 by March 2011
• Prepare North Tyneside Council for the
  introduction of the Carbon Reduction Commitment
  April 2010
• Lead on delivery of Value for Money target for
  energy efficiencies in 2009/2010 500k
• Reduce direct and indirect Carbon Footprint of
  North Tyneside Council operations
• Delivery of Sustainable Development Climate
  Change strategies and action plans

• Working closely with Newcastle City Councils
  Environmental Team to share good practice. The
  team will audit a North Tyneside School for Green
  Flag Status (and SDU will support there)
